Hi -
This is the website for Tina Meade, School Counselor at Islander
Middle School. I work primarily with students last name L - Z, but
am happy to answer questions or address concerns from any parent or
student.
I am here to help with academic, social, or emotional concerns.
Some specific reasons someone might want to contact a school
counselor include, but are not limited to:
- Questions about your schedule
- Help with study skills, organization
- Friendship issues
- Family issues
- Help dealing with stress or anxiety
- Get a neutral adult's perspective
- Help with classes/grades
- Setting up a "staffing" (a meeting with all of a student's
teachers)
- Academic or career planning
- or really any question/concern you may have!!
My direct telephone line is 206-230-6152. You can also email me at
tina_meade@misd.wednet.edu. There is also a link on the left side
of the screen to send me a message through this webpage. My office
is located in the back of the Student Services Office (where Kay
Johnson, our Attendance Secretary is located).
I have just started to develop this page, so please keep checking
back as I add more information, including documents and links to
other websites.
I look forward to working with you. Let me know how I may help.
Best regards,
Tina Meade, J.D., M.Ed.

Document added -
- MISD Mutual Exchange of Information form - in order to
comply with FERPA (Federal Education Records Privacy Act),
parents/guardians must complete and submit this form before any
staff member can communicate with outside providers. "Outside
providers" includes, but is not limited to, private tutors,
physicians, psychologists, and therapists. If parents are
requesting teachers complete report forms to be submitted to an
outside provider, we ask that the forms be submitted to the
student's academic counselor accompanied with a stamped envelope.
The counselor will verify that the release form is within the
student's file before any form is distributed to teachers.
